I picked up the paid version on a whim and its a lot of fun. Reminds me of early PS1 and Animal Crossing games but the whole point is just fishing. Better in bursts rather than dedicated play but I keep discovering little things to do and find (ex: the metal detector). This is why I love gamejams, people can create such fun stuff and eventually expand on it. Thank you for making this!
nah depending on the webhost you can just use a template, you'd be surprised how easy it is to make a spam site look legit. it's not linked to on the dev's twitter or linktree so I doubt it's the real deal

There's no way there's actually this many real people begging, this some kind of scheme, not sure what they would get out of it but someone's totally botting these.

Does anyone happen to know if this version is safe from the hacking problems that are in the steam release? I really want to try this game out, but I'm too scared to get the steam one until it's fixed.
You don't have to worry about the "hackers" like Grincher, etc. as long as you don't accept their mail or join their lobbies. A lot of the things they were originally able to do -- like corrupting save files -- have been patched by rewrites to the game's code on the 13th. Even if they join a public lobby you're in, you can safely ignore them.
There's been a lot of fear mongering within the community unfortunately, but as long as you don't interact with the exploiters in any way (e.g not accepting mail from people you don't know) you should be more than fine.
$5.00 is sometimes too difficult for some people sadly. That said, this person says they have a friend who has purchased it, so it seems like that friend should be able to do that for them? I don’t know. I don’t do Steam. I’ve tried several times, but for some reason (no given errors) I just can’t set it up.
